The name Chrysocolla was first used by Theophrastus in 315 B.C. and comes from the Greek chrysos, meaning “gold,” and kolla, meaning “glue,” in allusion to the name of the material used to solder gold.

This mineral, in general, revitalizes and calms the base sacral and solar plexus chakras. At the heart chakra, it can also assist in the ease of emotional heartache and to give renewed strength and balance; it further increases one’s capacity to love. At the throat chakra, I can give both strength and balance in one’s expression and communication; it also helps one to refrain from verbalization when silence would be beneficial.

This crystal has acted to purify the home and the environment, and can work to eliminate negativity from within a person.
